Hot on the heels of the BITA news, Chimnie has also been shortlisted for the Insurance Startup Award at the Insurance Times Tech & Innovation Awards. Winners will be revealed at the Royal Lancaster London on Thursday 18 September 2025.

Two years in, and already making a difference

Launched in 2023 to be the single source of truth for UK property data, Chimnie fuses AI-driven enrichment with a vast array of spatial, environmental and market datasets. That data-first mindset has helped us:

  • Secure contracts with major insurers - including Chubb and Hastings - plus fast-growing digital brands.

  • Grow entirely through iterative product development.

  • Deliver measurable client benefits such as faster quote turnaround and improved loss ratios.

The judges recognised this impact by naming Chimnie one of the finalists in the Insurance Startup Award category, alongside FraudOps and Gigasure.

What sets us apart

  • Roof-tile-level accuracy: integrating elevation, flood history, building materials and market trends into one coherent view.

  • Open-by-design platform: every data point can be queried directly.

  • Accessible innovation: our free AVM API (with confidence intervals) makes high-quality valuation data available to firms of every size.

“This recognition isn’t just about code; it’s about our team’s mission to make property data fairer, faster and more useful to insurers and homeowners alike.”
Louis Leong, COO
